Packaging Council of Singapore (PCS IG)

The Packaging Council of Singapore serves as the representative voice for the packaging and plastics industry. It was founded in 1975 as a sub-committee of the Singapore Manufacturers' Association (SMA). In October 2001, it merged with the Plastics Industry Group as the majority of the members of the Plastics Industry Group agreed and believed that the merger could reap greater benefits as a result of this synergistic merger.

The PCS IG is also active in keeping its members informed of the latest trends and technology available. The IG conducts and supports packaging seminars, conferences and exhibitions aimed at promoting excellence in packaging.

The PCS IG also believes in healthy working relationship. Thus, by establishing and maintaining good working relationship with other plastics and packaging associations internationally, it is hoped that it will serve the purpose of networking and increase the exchange of important and useful information.

Locally, the group has been actively promoting Singapore's plastics and packaging industries and services, both at home and abroad, by organising trade missions and participating in overseas exhibitions.

PCS is one of the signatories of the Singapore Packaging Agreement (SPA), and a member of the Asian Packaging Federation (APF) and a member of World Packaging Organisation (WPO).
