Fire Protection, Safety and Security (FPSS) Industry Group

Introduction

To better serve the Building and Construction industries, the Fire Protection, Safety and Security (FPSS) Industry Group (IG) was established in April 2003. FPSS IG was initiated by five SMa members operating within the Building and Construction Industries. They are ASSA ABLOY (S) Pte Ltd, DORMA Door Controls Pte Ltd, Kaba Security Pte Ltd, South East Metal Industries Pte Ltd, and Tacam Steel Pte Ltd.

With the formation of FPSS, SMa would be in an ideal position to represent and champion the cause of the local fire protection and safety-related and security industries.

FPSS will assist members by fostering closer working relationships with the Singapore government agencies. This would be through drafting and reviewing safety standards, promoting best practices, conducting joint research, and educating the public by promoting and enhancing fire safety, security and safety issues.

FPSS will also act as a resource networking provider, covering published standards, training, standarised forms of contracts, and code of practice for compliance.

Main Objectives

• To be "THE VOICE" and provide consultative and advisory support for SMEs
• To act as a platform for networking
